golden arches ::
My cousin and her family arrived in Cryprus last week and talked a little on their blog about experiencing culture shock–craving something American.
I totally relate.
Other than an occasional ice cream cone (twist preferably), I haven’t eaten at McDonalds in America in years. Part of it is that is because I’m a vegetarian and so my options are limited. But, there are so many other, better. options when I’m in the States.
It’s funny though, being half way around the world, I find myself craving McDonalds. When we’re in the city, McDonalds suddenly becomes the food of choice. My no-meat diet still limits my options at South African McDonalds, but an Oreo McFlurry sure hits the spot!
Funny what a little culture shock will do…

When I lived in Brazil (my first time living overseas) I used to eat McDonalds every Tuesday. It became a ritual for me and a way to get my ‘roots’ satisfied. The funny thing is that in the States I never eat at McDonalds, but you’re right…its different when you’re away.
Where in Cyprus are they??? How long are they they for??? I’ll prob. be there again soon.
