just a little cheaper ::
There are a lot of things that are more expensive in South Africa than America. For example vehicles, appliances, technology, dvds, and processed/pre-packaged food all cost more here. And then there are some things that are cheaper, like produce, eating out, going to movies and, I was reminded yesterday, going to the doctor.
I’ve been feeling a little under the weather for a couple weeks. I finally went to the doctor yesterday–he diagnosed me with something, I can’t remember what he said. All I know is I have medicine–and I don’t feel much better yet.
But, here’s the cost of my doctor’s visit yesterday:
Doctor’s Appointment: R120
Prescriptions: R190
Total: R310
At today’s exchange rate, that’s $38. Total. Paying cash, without insurance.
Just a little cheaper than America…
